Not only is this my favorite song at the moment, but it’s pretty good to have on while writing my students’ final, which may or may not have something to do with Anne Sexton.

You can read her poem “Mercy Street” here. Which I’ve been doing. A lot.

I’ll be teaching a poetry workshop at Fordham University in the spring (and then another one the following spring, on surrealism and the imagination). I’ve already started building Peter Gabriel into the syllabus.

If you’re out there, future students, get ready.
